    Christine,

My partner used Dr. Schroff as well at MD Anderson and she was amazing. Smart, compassionate and could explain options in simple terms. I highly recommend her. While my partner didn’t require much outside of the standard protocol, Dr. Schroff was responsive to our local oncologist and to us when necessary. I know if you go there and mention my partner’s name she will remember – his name was Ben Freeny; while he is no longer with us, he lived almost 5 years post his diagnosis (which I have documented in detail here).

I would be more than happy to answer any questions, feel free to call me or text me at 954-401-1069 and I will respond when I can.

Christine.. . I see Dr. Rachna Shroff. She is young an thinks outside the box. I was diagnosed in January 2015 and wasn’t responding to the normal chemo used with CC. I went to MDA and she put me on different chemo altogether. First three months my Ca-19 went from 7227 to 2398. 1st positive I had ever had. She works with my onc here so I can stay home to get my chemo. I go every three months to MDA for blood work and scans. I got my second positive this week when I went back, they feel my Cancer is stable, I had no increase or decrease, CA-19 held at 2398 so I’m going on a maintenance program of xeloda. Never thought I’d hear “maintenance”. No more infusuion center on Tuesdays

My mother had a very good experience meeting with Dr. Milind Javle. It was a one time consultation but we came away feeling like we had b en seen by an expert.

christine…..I am hoping for those treated by MD Anderson physicians to come forward and share names with you.
In the meantime you may want to the “Search” function by using the key word: “MD Anderson.”
Also, you may want to take a look at the “blog” section of our site:
    http://www.cholangiocarcinoma.org/punbb/viewforum.php?id=31

Let me know if you need help.
    Hugs,
    Marion

who are the main doctors at MD Anderson that treat CC?

We are getting multiple opinions of what to do next at this point. I still haven’t found an ONC that I trust implicitly. Sort of frustrating.

    Thanks all!
