Hi all. I have posted before about my mother’s stage 4 intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. She has undergone four rounds of Folfox following discovery of the aggressive and metastasized (to her lungs and near her spine) return of her cancer following liver resection and adjuvant chemo (Gemcitabine). She recently suffered a compression fracture in her spine, which they believe to be from the tumors in the area and they are now radiating the tumors near her spine.
Impact testing showed various mutations, particularly IDH1, CDK12, ERBB2, NF1 and ATM.
We have been trying for a while to get an appointment with Dr. Javle at MD Anderson but are not having any luck. They initially told us they would not see mom while she was undergoing chemo. I am still working with the team at MD Anderson to provide her latest records and get an appointment but it has been slow going.
If anyone has any suggestions for how best to land an appointment with MD Anderson, and particularly Dr. Javle or someone on his team, I would really appreciate any suggestions or guidance you can provide. Of course, if anyone has any other suggestions regarding my mother’s case, please do not hesitate to share. I can be reached most directly at snpapera@gmail.com.
Thank you in advance!
Very Best,
Steven
