Hi Catherine,
Yay to your mum being home now, great stuff! And as you say, a Christmas to remember with special memories and your mum was able to attend the graduation of your daughter as she wished. I know how much that would have meant to both your mum and your daughter. Fingers are crossed for a speedy recovery for your mum and tons of positive thoughts are coming your way from over here.
Hugs,
Gavin
December 25, 2017 at 6:34 pm #96347middlesister1ModeratorThanks Gavin. Mom was discharged today. Not sure how, but we managed to still fit in Christmas dinner and gifts since there are 8 year old nieces in the family. Mom was not able to be at the gathering, but we all saw her at some point during day . We knew putting off surgery so she could travel to my daughter’s graduation might change Christmas celebrations, but all ok with us and her. Different, but still many special memories from this Christmas season. Love to all, Catherine
December 25, 2017 at 11:48 am #96343gavinModeratorHi Catherine,
Real sorry to hear that you and your mum are in the hospital over Christmas, big GRRRR to that! But the flip side to that is that I am real glad to hear that she is making a good recovery albeit a little slower that you would have hoped for. And glad of course that she was able to have the surgery as well. I hope that your mum will continue with the recovery and so that you can both go home again very very soon!
So a semi comfy sofa? Well that I would argue is better than a hospital chair any day of the week! And I know that we both will have a lot of experience with hospital chairs!
Big hugs to you and your mum,
Gavin
December 24, 2017 at 3:05 pm #96340middlesister1ModeratorHi, I’m spending Christmas Eve with Mom in the hospital tonight. It’s been a long few days since surgery on Wed but she is recouping well, just taking a bit longer than we hoped to get all plumbing working again. Great nursing staff and private room with semi-comfy sofa for me. My thoughts are with all here wishing you a very merry Christmas and happy holiday season. Love and hugs, Catherine

Hope that everyone is ready for Santa and that you have all been very good boys and girls this year!
Hugs to all,
Gavin

December 22, 2017 at 11:41 am #96326gavinModeratorThanks Brigitte. And to all of my CC family here I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and hopefully 2018 will be good to you. I know how hard this time of the year can be for many of you here who are members and post or just read the boards but do not post. For those who may not know, I lost my dad in the run up to Christmas in 2009 and know from personal experience that this time of the year can be extra hard for some.
So please, I hope that the New Year will bring you all what you wish and a very Merry Christmas to all of you as well.
Huge hugs and thanks to all of you,
Gavin
