My “metal stent wrapped in plastic” clogged 5 months after it was put it. They cleaned it out and it has been fine for 7 months now. The “roto-rootering” was much easier than stent replacement – for me anyway.
The stent she has is metal, which they said was permanent.???? She did have the plastic ones, which they replaced until they kept blocking.
My new stent was blocked right away, and instead of roto-rootering it, my doc chose to simply replace it. These stents are tiny, and it was probably easier to replace it. She should feel better once the bile is flowing
