Yes we were originally told that if my dad had the metal stents put in he who never be able to have surgury. We have heard other wise and are are currently seeing a new surgeon to see what he thinks. I don’t think he would even be looking at my dad if he didn’t think surgury was still possible.
Also we found out that the stents are titanium a nd MRI friendly! Whew thats a relief because we really want another MRI done CT scans are just not cutting it!!

yes you can. there also seems to be a bit of confusion over whether you can have a resection following insertion of a metal stent. My Dad had an MRI and a resection after having a metal stent. Surgeons views differ, we were fortunate to find a highly skilled and experienced liver surgeon.
