Hi Mary, good to see you! I remember when you told this story and love it now as I did then. Teddy has not been coming around as much as he used too. He may be busy with Vince Lombardi since Football is starting, or he may be busy with Liz Taylor, his all time Celebrity love or he may want me to get on with my life, he was very wise that way. Anyhew, last Thursday I was meeting my daughter and Grandkids at our favorite, family place for dinner. I was just getting near the restaurant and for the first itme in 2 months “our song” came on the oldies station. Teddy’s timing is always so impeccable that I had a total meltdown. And, I needed that. I always look forward to seeing you on line, take care….be strong!

My boys went to a nearby lake to hang out together the night Tom died. They saw several huge meteors while they were there. They talked about it at his funeral. I know it was him letting them know he was alright and glad they were all together. Thanks for the beautiful poem. It says what we are all feeling. There is so much to deal with…..it seems overwhelming most of the time. I wish Tom was here, every minute of every day. Mary

So heartfelt. Thank you for sharing. And cudos too…I awoke around 1:30 and tried to inspire myself to drive to an open area to watch the meteor shower but wimped out and went back to bed.
I am sure Doug was watching in awe with you and at you.
    Peace be,
    Karen

Wrote this at 1:30 AM after watching the meteor shower
    For Doug:

    Meteor Shower

Flash of light across the sky,
And then another as time goes by,
A message sent from you my dear,
    Telling me you’re always near.

For you are my shooting star,
    Sending wishes from afar,
I reach for you in the night,
I tell myself it will be alright.

I hold back all the tears,
    Along with all my fears,
Wishing for the night to turn to day,
And you will be back to stay.

To wrap me in your warm embrace,
And bring me comfort so I can face,
The days ahead with love so true,
Just the way we always knew.

    xo
