Wow Jeff-I have been away for awhile and had no idea!!! So sorry you had to go through that. Glad things are getting back under control. It is really true about being an advocate for yourself. So sad how some people are alone and can’t advocate for themselves and just get dismissed by the medical community. Hang on Pumpkin!! We’re all on your side and that’s gotta help. Patrice

Hi Teresa and Mary, Thanks for the encouragement ! Granddaughter’s 3 rd birthday party today. All dressed up in her halloween princess dress. She didn’t take to long to get back to the blow -up swimming pool though. She says Pumpkin can I go swimming now? Ha! She has called me pumpkin instead of PAPA since she started to talk. Take Care and God Bless You both. It is so nice to be able to just chat once in a while. Back and forth to Radiation treatments next two weeks or more and doctor appointments of course. Cherrio! Ta! Ta! for now.

Welcome back Jeff. I’m glad they caught that bone met early. It just shows how much you have to stand up for yourself when you know things aren’t right and the Docs don’t agree with you. No one should be afraid of questioning things no matter what! We’ve really learned that lesson too. Take care. God Bless. Mary

Hey All ! Nice to be back home. Was in the hospital for a few days. Had stubborn pain in right hip/flank area. To make a long story shorter After two emergency room visits, 1 xray,1CT, and 1 MRI they discovered why I was bumping my head against the wall. Tumor from the lung had mets to spine bone and was nibbling away at my nerve roots. I finally got pain under control and have had 2 radiation treatments already. Oncology Radiologist Doc feels it was discovered just in time for him to easily knock it out of commission. He is the same doc that put my liver in it’s place, so hopefully he can do the same here, although I have referral for nuero Surgeon as a back up just in case. And as far as My other results was liver and lungs stable with some shrinkage. So I got some good news hey? should complain at this stage I guess. So I guess I learned and can pass along that if you are having more pain than usual and especially a littl higher or lower push for re-exam to verify if something else is going on. Like in my case all eyes were focused on original areas and did not pay much attention to the new little pain that turn in to a big pain. Will follow up with My Oncologist Thursday. I am going to discuss the picture in a bigger frame this time around. Maybe press on with next treatment or maybe not we’ll see. Right now I’m feeling great. Well who wouldn’t if taking 60 mg Slow release morphine 3 times daily and 4mg of dialud (sp) every 4 hours for any break through pain. Weeee! Haven’t had to use break through meds yet. Also Doc said I can cut back as pain gets less which is expected to do. Also the decadron is being lowered slowly as it was to high and they tryed to stop cold turkey which you don’t do you know? 1 week and i’ll have that back down to a tolerable range. Ya really got to watch out and advocate for your self and push all the buttons especially when you know what your body is saying is different than what the doc thinks. Gastritus my butt! Well that’s my latest good news and experience in a nut shell. Time to go eat a loaded pizza. Nutritionist said it certainly covered all five basic food groups but could be a little fattening. I told her that was right up my ally. Ha! Take Care. God bless you all, as I have read through many of the posts and just wanted to say there is always hope and perserverance can make a difference sometimes. We’ll see in a few weeks in my case.

    Jeff G.
