    Hello Kristin:

Congratulations on your pivot and turn to do positive angerless battle with the ding-blasted tumors. You are truly blessed with your positive sense of humor in dealing with these unwelcome invaders! BTW, the Gemzar/Oxaliplatin/Xeloda combo really helped me!

God bless you and yours in all that you do, however you do it.

Kristin….I recognize the big step it has been for you to make the decision to go after these darn tumors with vengeance and I wish for the absolute best results coming your way.

I hope the chemo zaps those tumors down to nothingness.

Kristin, I love the thought of Doofus and Pipsqueek being zapped into the ozone. Just the thought of naming them is terrific. What a step deciding on chemo was for you too. Good luck on handling the side-effects. For me, they were nothing compared to what you might be doing to Doofus and Pipsqueek!

    Best wishes,

    Linda

Good luck Kristin. I am sure a lot of thought went into make the decision to take this big step. I too am hoping that Doofus & Pipsqueek won’t know what hit them and will be quickly blasted away.

    Love & Hugs,

Good luck Kristin. I hope it all works out for you and chemo. I am waiting to hear the good results from your next scan. Yes, deciding on chemo is a big step, but I am sure it will be the right one for you. What makes chemo scary is all the side effects, but perhaps you wont have that many. I only get thinning hair on the one you are going on…I even put on weight (gotta love steroids!).

Doofus and Pipsquek wont have any idea what hit them.

Hi Kristen, wishing you all the best on your new venture. Love the names you have given to those guys and hope you zap them into outer space. Your attitude is wonderful and show those wimps who is boss!!!

Well, it’s time… After four years of creative procrastination since my recurrence, I’ve decided that the cancer is catching up with me and I need to finally do something. I’ve lost a ton of weight, food mostly tastes awful, I have zero energy, my bile drain is still giving me endless trouble, and now I have a new tumor on my tummy, just under the skin, that I can actually see. YUCK!!

So my wonderful oncologist and I have decided that on Thursday I’ll start on Gemox (gemcitabine + oxaliplatin) every 14 days for three months, then do scans to see if it’s working. I s’pose I could also poke at the tummy-tumor every so often and see if it’s feeling smaller…

Inspired by our wonderful Kris, I have also given my tumors names: the bigger one under my liver is “Doofus,” and the smaller one on my tummy is “Pipsqueak.” I always have been convinced that I have exceptionally wimpy, unmotivated tumors, so they should just give up and go away when blasted by drugs.

All fingers crossed! This is a really big step for me.

Best wishes to all of you,

    Kristin
