Dear Janet,
I am so very sorry indeed to hear of the passing of your dear Bob. Please accept my sincere condolences. I am glad to hear you say that he got his wish of seeing his children and grandchildren back home once again, I know how much that would have meant to him. Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family right now and also that we are all here for you as well.
Hugs,
Gavin

I too am sorry to hear of Bob’s passing and would like to extend to you and your family my deepest sympathy. I am glad to hear that he was able to get his wish of seeing his family together. No words can take away your pain & sorry, but try to take some comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering or in pain. He will be with all of you forever in your hearts and the wonderful memories that you share.
Love,

Those we love must someday pass beyond our present sight…
They leave us and the world we know without their radiant light.
But we know that like a candle their lovely light will shine
To brighten up another place more perfect…more divine.
And in the realm of Heaven where they shine so warm and bright,
Our loved ones live forevermore in God’s eternal light.June 19, 2014 at 3:18 pm #83124marionsModeratorJan….please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear husband. My heart is with you and your family. Jan, one of the most difficult things to accept with this disease is the lack of early detection, as that is the key to long term survival with this silent cancer. Unfortunately, as it so happened with you dear husband, this cancer had metastasized and appeared to be not treatable.
When cancer strikes, we loose control over our bodies and that to me is one of the most devastating things humans must endure. Your husband though, took control of how he wanted to proceed. He must have been grateful to you and your family for allowing him to do just that. Tell us more, dear Jan, about the wonderful gathering with the entire family. This must have been a so very special event.
We are in this together and we welcome each and everyone to join in. Thanks for doing so, dear Jan.
Hugs,

He walked 5 miles a day and was fairly athletic until he passed out during one of his walks. His cancer grew faster than anyone thought and surgery was stopped as Dr saw cancer had already spread into liver, gall bladder and who knows were else. He chose not to go on Chemo again as he wanted quality of life for the 6 or so good remainder months he was to have. Radiation was not offered or an option. We did apply for a Clinical Trial and he was selected for one using DNA but didn’t want to give up his few good months left. He never had those months. He died exactly four months from the date of surgery.
His dream was to see all his children and grandchildren together under our roof before he died as our children life all over the country. He got his wish and died five days later. He was 72 years old.
