Jon…my husband tolerated fried food, but was able to digest less of it. As Lainy mentioned, your brother’s digestive system will let him know. Generally though I have been told and found to be true is that a diet high in protein accelerates the healing process.

Hi, Jon, me again! After surgery your body will kind of be the boss and you will know what you can and can’t do. One needs to stay away from grease, fatty foods, fried foods and in some cases dairy. My husband was a chocoholic and couldn’t stand sweets after surgery. An older but still exceptional book to get on nutrition would be the Anticancer: A New Way Of Life – David Servan-Schreiber.

A nutrition question from a “caretaker”: so if someone has had cancer and has had surgery too, it probably makes also some sense to change nutrition afterwards to keep “fit”. Is there, on the other hand, some food which should not be eaten? I could imagine that the body is more sensitive. And allergic, too. Maybe one should see a doctor, and get tested on food. I think it does no harm given that they have all assay kit testing strategies to test more than one allergy at once.
    All best, Jon

Hi Michael and welcome to our site. We appreciate your input on nutrition and would like to know more about yourself. Are you in the nutrition or medical field and are you a ptient or caretaker of someone with CC? As always we advise people on our Board to not make any changes in their nutrition or care without consulting their Doctor. Thanks for your input.

    Hey, jmgrisolia
I am in great favor of mushrooms.
Mushroom is a natural high nutritional food. It contains high protein and no fat, hence its good from fitness point of view. It is said to be the perfect meat alternative. Some types of mushrooms are used in medicines and some are used for genera eating. Oyster mushroom is the most common eatable mushroom.

Thank you very much to you all. It seems that there is not a clear conclusion about the effect of mushroon on this illness.

I asked my radiation oncologist about perhaps taking some supplements or seeing a naturopath since my last CT showed no cancer. He said he’s not opposed to it but told me to stay aware from mushroom and treebark supplements. He didn’t give me the specific reason.

    Best wishes,

    Susie

Be careful about agaricus. Two reports out of Japan say it’s not safe to take.

    Dear all,

We are going to try to improve the nutrion of my sister with an I-CC stage IV. We are thinking in this type of mushroom which grows in Brazil. I wonder if any member has had any positive experience with this type of food or any other

    All the best
