Thank you all for your best wishes and loving care. A piece of my heart is already in Heaven and one day, when God calls me, I too will be joined with the other part of my heart and become whole again. In the meantime, I will cherish every memory and the remarkable love of this man.

    Susan,

I am so sorry to hear of Randy’s passing. Reading your account of his last day and your family all coming together reminded me of my Dad’s passing 18 months ago, 7 weeks after his cc diagnosis.

Wishing you peace and strength as you face the future.

    With hugs,

    Katie

Dearest Sus, you know how I feel, You did a magnificient job of caring for your ‘Beloved’ and of walking this journey with him. I am so very proud of you.
I am also so happy that Randy Passed in Peace and with his family around him.
Now you will remember all the wonderful Memories that you made together.

If I should be the first to go,
And leave you alone, my Dear,
Let not your heart be lonely,
Nor in your eyes a tear.
Grieve not for me, my Darling,
    I

I just read your post and it made me cry. What a beautiful relationship you must have had with your husband, and what a beautiful gift you and your family gave him at the end, and he also gave you. Just as Jeffrey is taking care of the family on earth, Im certain your beloved will be taking care of all of you from above. I wish you peace in the days, weeks, months to come.

My Beloved is what my husband and I called each other and put as the names in our cell phones. My beloved left my arms to go to Heaven at 7:23 p.m. on January 29, 2011. He had been diagnosed just 6 months earlier. The last thing he wanted to do was leave his family and his grand”babies”. God was gracious and allowed Randy not to have any pain the last 3 days of his life and Randy’s prayer was to go to sleep and not wake up. His prayer was answered. He wanted to celebrate his last Christmas and he did. He waited for the birth of our grandson Jonathan James and he got to hold Jonathan first on January 20. Each day after that he had a steady decline. On the 29th, I kept telling him to wait for our son to arrive from out of town. Our daughters were here at the bedside, but we needed our son to be able to say goodbye to his papa. Jeffrey, our son, arrived at 7:05 p.m. had some private words with Papa and then Jeffrey, Megan (our daughter) and I were at the bedside. I told Jeffrey to tell Papa that he would take care of the family so Papa could let go. He wouldn’t leave with us not being taken care of. Jeffrey assured Papa that he would take care of the family just the way Papa taught him and that he could feel secure knowing that. Megan told her daddy how much she loved him and that he could go. I told him that he had a big job in this life and he had done the job well and it was time to go into Jesus’ arms. He never took a breath after those words were said and he passed peacefully away in his sleep. He transitioned to Heaven at 7:23 p.m. (His birthdate is 7/23). We are grieving, but we are so thankful. Rest now, my beloved, until we meet again.
