Mark….congratulations to a wonderful report. Given the blood test results it appears that your Dad is in a great position to receive favorable news on Thursday. Good time to relax and to take a big breath of relief.
All my best wishes,
MarionSeptember 26, 2011 at 6:03 pm #52985lainySpectatorHi Mark! While we cannot predict anything it sure looks good! It is always a tense time before getting Scan results. Please let us know what you find out after the Thursday meeting. GOOD LUCK
September 26, 2011 at 4:56 pm #52984marktannouriSpectatorHi all,my dad had his scan today and we will have the result thursday, hope everything gonna be good,he had blood test result today and the ca19-9 is 17!!!))) bilirubine looks normal as well gamma gt and sgpt liver functions, does that indicate that there’s no more cancer?? The doctors said that it’s a very positive result, does anyone had the same result? Does it mean that the MRI scan will be cancer free hopefully, thanks for your support all,god bless you

There’s certainly ‘scanxiety’ along with the scan, but your father will relax a little when he gets a few more normal ones.
I’m hoping for lots of normal scans for your dad. Good luck.

September 19, 2011 at 9:00 pm #52980gavinModeratorHi Mark,
That is great to hear that your dads surgery went well and that he is not having any symptoms and is feeling okay right now. I know what you mean when you talk about you and your dad feeling nervous when it gets close to having a scan of any sort. I went through that with my dad and it is something that we all seem to go through. I guess that it’s understandable as we want to get it done and know what is happening, at least that is what myself and my dad felt at the time. I will be keeping everything crossed for your dad and his results and hope for the best possible news here. Please know that we are all here for you and let us know how your dad gets on.
My best wishes to you and your dad,
Gavin

September 18, 2011 at 9:26 pm #52978mustangmortSpectatorMark, I appreciate the faith that you are showing. I, too, have extreme faith in God. I feel that he will heal me and I ask him to. However, I always let him him know that “His will” be done, not mine. We always have so strong feelings for those we love. I’m the one with the disease but it is my family that I worry about, not me.
September 18, 2011 at 6:29 pm #52977lainySpectatorDear Mark, first of all congratulations on your Dad’s successful surgery, that is excellent. It is normal for your Dad to be nervous and frightened waiting for test results. It seems to happen to us all, the wait is one of the most frightening times. You are right, we can’t second guess what the Doctor will find but it sounds like your Dad is in very good hands, indeed. When God solves my problems I have faith in his abilities, when he doesn’t solve my problems he has faith in my abilities! Stay strong for your dad, you are a wonderful son! Please let us know how the scans went.
September 18, 2011 at 5:22 pm #5667marktannouriSpectatorI haven’t been here since a long time my dad had a left lobectomy in April, the pathology says that it’s reaching focally the surgical margin, the onc decided to have a MRI and everything was clear except the surgical area had a little activity, the onc said that it is just from the surgery and not a reecurence,he decided to give him gemzar for 8 cycles as prevention, now he is done with gemzar he is gonna have ca19-9 test Friday and MRI next Monday,he isn’t having any symptoms he is feeling ok but he is very worry and frithen and waiting the results of his test,i know its stupid to ask you what do you think the result will be,I’m so worry about him,he doesn’t deserve it,my prayer to god just not to have a recurrence and be healed from this disease,Dear friends Im sorry that we have met all in this site, hope for you all to be healed from this disease with my prayer to you all, keep fighting don’t ever give up believe in god and a miracle will happen ask him to be healed and he will listen to you.Mark
