My dad was diagonised with CC in Nov 2013, went through 4 rounds of chemo with limited outcome and so he quit. In March this year he started having hematuria and it hurts real bad every time he tried to wee. They had to use a large catheter(doc used a guiding wire cause the catheter was too thick) in order to pass out all the blood clots in his bladder.
Cystoscopy was done to see if it’s caused by the cancer itself, turns out it’s not the cancer that caused the bleeding, my dad had a bladder rupture right where the catheter was inserted. My dad had serious edema on his legs and scrotum during March but it’s back to normal after they used a SPC to deal with the bladder rupture.
However, my dad went to the hospital again with the same problem in May, which was resolved again in a week (last time the bleeding lasted for a month). And my dad is now in hospital again for hematuria, the doc said that the reason to this is that my dad has low platelets which leads to the bleeding. Does anyone else have similar condition? Need help on how to prevent this from happening again…
