Dear Margaret, I am so very sorry about your good friend, Shawn, and as we all know she is now at Peace. My prayers go out to her family.
My lovely friend Shawn Hernandaz from Ankeny Iowa passed away today from complications of Cholangiocarcinoma. She was active in volunteering her time in sewing costumes for the kids for Drama & Dance activities in the DesMoines, Ankeny, Grimes & Dallas Center Iowa School System. My Daughter Kathie from Dallas Center Iowa ‘hooked’ Shawn and I up when she learned that Shawn had Cholangiocarcinoma earlier this year.
I encouraged Shawn to join this site or at least come to this site to research and learn more about her cancer. By the time they found her cancer, it had spread to her female organs, her lungs and other parts of her body. She only lived about 5 months after diagnosis.
I was only able to give her moral support as she fought her battle with this cancer, but she passed into God’s loving arms yesterday evening with her family by her side.
Go in peace Shawn…God Speed…
