Dear Deborah, I too wanted to tell you how very sorry I am for your loss. I’m sure it makes it much harder with the kids, as you worry about their loss and grief process, in addition to experiencing your own. Many prayers and hugs to you.

We are very sorry to hear about your husband. I love this poem and perhaps it will help just a little:

If I should be the first to go,
And leave you alone, My Dear,
Let not your heart be lonely,
Nor in your eye a tear.

Grieve not for me, my darling,
    I’ll not be far away,
With petals of love and tenderness,
I’ll pave for you the way.

To join me in our sanctuary,
    And ne’er again we’ll part,
Grieve not for me, my darling,
    I live within your heart.

    Take joy again in living,
As you did in years gone by,
God knows of what He’s doing,
    And not be questioned why,

Grieve not for me, my darling,
My life with you on earth,
    Each moment filled with happiness,
And love so few be worth.

I’ll be waiting for you Sweetheart,
    Where skys are ever blue,
With eager heart and open arms,
    Patiently for you.

Grieve not for me, my darling,
May faith and my love keep
    Your soul filled with contentment,
    Eternally I sleep.

    Dear Deborah,

I am so sorry to hear of William’s passing but am glad that it was peaceful. As sad as this time is for you and your children, atleast William is no longer in pain or suffering from this horrid disease. He will always be with you in your heart and memories. Know that we are all here for you for strength and support as you now travel this road of grieving that so many of us are on. Try to take some time for you so that you can stay strong for your children. Take care, my thoughts & prayers are with you and your family.

    Love & Hugs,
    Darla

My husband William passed away peacefully on 3rd July .Chemo was stopped at the end of April ,so it really didnt take long for the disease to take over. Myself and our 5 children are so relived that he is no longer suffering. We tried to make his funeral a joyful celebration of his life .We will always miss, him but find much joy in him being at peace ,as each of us tries to come to terms with our own personal loss.Im trying to be brave and upbeat so that I can get my kids through this .Thank you for all your support .Deborah
