    Hi Christine,

    Welcome to the site. Sorry that you had to find us all here and I’m sorry also to hear what you are going through right now but I am very glad that you have joined in with all here as you have so come to the best place for support and help and you will get tons of both from everyone here. I know that we have quite a few members here on the site that are from your area and I know that they will be along soon to share their experiences with you. And of course others will be along as well although it can get a bit quite around here at the weekend and I know as well that some of our members are off to Chicago this weekend for the ASCO Annual meeting for this year.

    I saw your post re the U of C on the other thread and hopefully some will be able to give you some pointers about that hospital on that thread. That is great to hear that a resection may be an option for you as treatment as so many people are not able to have that surgery. Also great to hear you say that you are of to MSKCC for a second opinion, excellent. Getting this is a great idea and please let us know how that goes for you.

    My name is Christine. I am 40 years old and have been having abdominal pain for about 6 weeks. A tumor in my liver was found about 2 weeks ago and we found out yesterday that it appears to be intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The good news is that they think a resection of the liver will remove it.

    I am heading to MSKCC for a 2nd opinion on Monday.

    Looking forward to learning a lot (and trying not to get too scared) through this site!
