DarlaSeptember 15, 2009 at 12:58 pm #31000lainySpectatorJulia, we are all right there with you, that’s why they didn’t want anymore people at the hospital! I still have everything crossed for a great outcome so they better make it happen as I am getting a little sore now!!! All our prayers are surrounding your whole family.
September 15, 2009 at 10:27 am #30999jamie-dMemberJulia;
Sending lots of good thoughts and prayers your way today for you and your sister. May the good Lord be guiding the surgeons hands and everyone else in the operating room today.
God Bless,
JamieSeptember 15, 2009 at 9:44 am #30998lalupesSpectatorThank you, all!! I got a call from her at 8.30 saying “They’re coming for me in half an hour”. Mum & I both wanted to be at the hospital today but they’ve all STRONGLY dissuaded us – so I’m going round to mum’s & we’ll alternate our calls to the Specialist Nurse.
Wendy, I’m so glad your mum feels well enough to go on holiday. I can’t believe how quickly I’ve had to learn what a nasty disease this is. Telling it to get lost & then refusing to let it spoil your life sounds a healthy approach to me!! I send every good wish to her & hope she has a very relaxing holiday.

MarionSeptember 14, 2009 at 8:25 pm #30996gavinModeratorJulia,
Am keeping everything crossed for your sister tomorrow! I hope it all goes well and according to plan.
Loads of positive thoughts for your sister and my best wishes go to you all.

I just wanted to say, I will be thinking of you and your sister tomorrow. Everything crossed for a good outcome!
As an aside, my mum has decided to have no further treatment. Instead she is very cross with this invasion of her body and has decided to ignore her illness! As a result she has been feeling a little better in herself and has just gone off abroad on holiday! Hurray!! Keep positive and please tell your sister’s surgeon to educate his medical peers – we wish there were more of him around!
Best wishes and good luck!!
WendyxxSeptember 12, 2009 at 6:39 pm #30994lalupesSpectatorYou are wonderful, & so kind. Thank you!!
September 12, 2009 at 5:10 pm #30993lainySpectatorHi Julia. I have everything crossed for Tuesday, eyes, arms, legs and all in between! Many prayers and good thoughts flying your way for your sister!
September 12, 2009 at 5:00 pm #30992lalupesSpectatorThank you, Gavin; my blog is slowly starting to take shape & I’m glad to have your support.
The docs are now talking about the big op on Tuesday. She’s been told it’s very unusual for surgery to be an option with a diagnosis like hers – it’s all down to the individual surgeon & the individual patient. This surgeon believes the op is an option for this patient. That has got to be a seriously positive sign!!!
We’re all very scared but feeling optimistic, too.
It’s great that you & your dad are having good laughs together & the thought of him on a horse sounds brilliant!! More hope that there is a life after, during & despite CC.
Have a good weekend
JuliaSeptember 9, 2009 at 10:32 pm #30991gavinModeratorHi Julia,
Just read your blog, good stuff! Glad to hear that you’re feeling more optomistic and that the website is helping you and also that the drain seems to be working for your sister.
Hopefully you will have good news to report soon.

September 8, 2009 at 5:09 pm #30990lalupesSpectatorWhat a lovely message – thank you, Wendy!! I’m feeling much more optimistic lately; with this website to support me & the knowledge that the new drain is working & her bilirubin is starting to come down at last.
I’ve tentatively started a blog. It’s got very little on it so far, but I hope to be able to get it flowing & keep it going.
I want to do all I can to help others to find out more about, & feel less alone with, this awful cancer. I’m also spreading the word about this miraculous website & am just waiting for my wristbands to arrive so I can raise awareness that way, too … (it sounds like I want to be a walking advocate for CCF, but I’m just glad I’ve found a channel for my energy, pain & frustration).
I hope to have good news to report soon & I really, really hope you others are receiving comforting news too.

September 8, 2009 at 4:23 pm #30989hughesdewyMemberHi Julia,
I really hope that your sister’s health improves, and that she is one of the lucky ones who fights this condition. Remember, she is probably in the best place right now to make a speedy recovery with some keen academics on her side. I will keep everything crossed for your sister.
Take good care of yourself too – your sister is very lucky to have you looking after her so beautifully.

Great news indeed for you all. Like Marion and Darla, everything crossed here also.
