    Hi Simon,

Great to hear from you again and thank you very much for giving us an update on your wife. And I am glad to hear that you say that your wife’s tumour is stable and also that you are staying positive. A positive attitude is a great thing indeed!

My best wishes to you and your wife,

    Gavin

Hello Sti and glad to hear you are adjusting to your new normal. I am just curious if you have thought of another opinion and if your doctor has dealt with CC patients before. And yes, ATTITUDE is everything!

Hi everyone. Thank you so much to Irishgirl, Lainy & Gavin for your support and comforting words. As we all know, going through this we need as much of that as we can. Tomorrow my wife gets her Hickman line taken out – mixed feelings in that – staying positive about the tumour, line out is one less reminder/difficulty, but also seems like a door closing. Been told the tumour is stable, but that if/when symptoms carry on, time for my wide will be short. So, we have returned to as much of a normal life as we can. My wife is now back at work 3 days per week, not as she was, but as she us now, and we’re thankful we’ve managed to have another Christmas together. What I would say again to anyone facing this in any way, keep going regardless. Never stop hoping, and never give in. One thing I have learned from this family, is that none of us are on our own, and it’s so good to know that we all have many friends we just haven’t met yet. A very Happy New Year to you all.

Roni…Selective Internal Radiation: generally is named after the manufacturer rather than the type of treatment it delivers:
The list is ever changing however, here are the the major ones.
Axesse, Cyberknife, Gamma Knife, Novalis, Primatom, Synergy, X-Knife, TomoTherapy and Trilogy.

Hi Nancy – We started the cream yesterday afternoon. She only vomited once @ 2:30 am so I am hoping this works for her. She had a rough last couple days she was voimting every 2-3 hours. The nausea isn’t as bad as it was yesterday and now she is experiencing dizziness. I am praying this works for her we have tried so many other nausea medications and nothing has worked for her. This is such a horrible disease and it breaks my heart to see my Mom suffer like this. Thank you for the good thoughts, I appreciate them….

Irishgirl – Just tried to read up a little bit about ABHR cream and what it can do on the Internet. It sounds promising to help with the nausea. I hope your Mom finds some relief with this treatment. Sending good thoughts your way…..Nancy

My Mom has had really rough 4 days. She has no appetite and is drinking very little fluids. She has constantly been vomiting bile for the last 4 days. Hospice just started the ABHR cream today. Has anyone tried this cream?? If so does it help with the vomiting and will she regain any of her appetite?? I hope some of you can help me with my question. Thank you!

My mom biggest problem has been vomiting The hospise team tried 4-5 different meds before finding a combo of 2 one is in supository form the other is a cream that is applied to her wrist both work fairly fast and she can have them up to every 3 hrs as needed. She eats very little now. But when she can have just a bite of something or a sip of apple juice that seems to help. Most of the meds are so hard on the stomach it is hard to know if it is the cancer or the meds causing the N/V. My mom stopped all treatment Sept 6th she is near the end of her journey. Good Luck and God Bless. Prayers to you and your mom.

    Hi Simon,

Welcome to the site. I am sorry that you had to find us, but thank you so much for sharing your wife’s story with us all here. You are right when you say that everyone is different and the no one can say for definite how things will pan out. I am in the UK as well, my dad was diagnosed and treated in Dundee at Ninewells, he had PDT. The Christie in Manchester has an excellet reputation for the work that they do there and I am glad that your wife is under their care.

My best wishes to you and your wife,

    Gavin

Dear Irishgirl – Glad you found us. You will find so much support on this site. My husband is on the fentanyl patch with vicodin for breakthrough pain. He has nausea medication that works ok, not great, just ok. He eats only what sits well on his stomach – for him that is cottage cheese. The fentanyl is working well. Keep coming back and posting. We’ll be there for you through this process. Blessings, Susan
