Definitely a sign from your mum to let you know she is OK and will always be near by, watching over you.
Hugs,
DarlaFebruary 17, 2014 at 2:15 am #79703lainySpectatorDear Lou, I can not think of a more significant way for your Mother to let you know she is watching over you. Quite a dramatic entrance I would say! Perhaps stars are not stars at all but rather openings in the sky where our loved ones shine down on us to let us know they are HAPPY! If this is true then your Mum is not only happy she is ecstatic!
February 17, 2014 at 2:11 am #79702iliasMemberThank you all for you kind thoughts and wishes.
Last night I was looking for a star to call mum. I kept on looking, but nothing jumped out. As i turned towards another part of the sky, I saw a shooting star.
Shooting stars are a rare sight in these parts of the city and I have only seen a couple in all my years of existence.
My mum is the shooting star that travels far and beyond to be with those who loved her.

February 14, 2014 at 4:07 am #79694marionsModeratorLou……your Mom is at peace. She lived her life and left it on her own terms leaving behind a loving family and never ending memories.
Tonight, when gazing at the sky, I will search for another bright star….that of your dear Mom.
May your heart begin to heal ….one day at a time.
Hugs and love,

I’m so sorry. As Lainy says, she was a warrior, and you were by her side. My heart goes out to you and your family.
MargaretFebruary 13, 2014 at 11:17 pm #79692willowSpectatorIliad,
My heart goes out to you at this time of deep loss. Your dear Mom was surrounded by love through this entire journey and you all made sure of that. Your wife sounds as loving as you are. My condolences to you all, especially to your father.
WillowFebruary 13, 2014 at 11:14 pm #79691lainySpectatorDear Lou, I am so very sorry but like you know your Mother is now at Peace and extremely happy. She must have had a special bond with your wife and that is beautiful. Yes, your Mother was a true warrior and as I believe she will always be close to your side looking over you and you family. Too bad they do not have medals of honor for our type of warriors.
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain,
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die. By Mary Elizabeth Frye
For everything beautiful that you see
will bring a memory of me.February 13, 2014 at 10:59 pm #9549iliasMemberIt is with great sadness to inform of my mother’s passing 12th February 2014.
My mother died in the loving arms of my father and my caring arms of my wife Georgia.
My mother waited until all her children were outside before she passed peacefully.
I later learned that after her diagnosis she asked my wife and father to be there with her when she passed.
My mother fought this disease until her very last breath.
God Bless
