Hi Gaby,
Many thanks for letting us all know about your dad and how he got on with his Nanoknife procedure. It sounds like it went well and my fingers are crossed for the best possible outcome here and also for a speedy recovery for your dad. Please let us know how things go for your dad.
My best wishes to you and your dad,
Gavin
April 14, 2012 at 6:43 am #36007marionsModeratorGaby…that is very encouraging news. If it worked for our Lisa then there is no reason to think it won’t do the same for your Dad. Tons of good wishes are heading your way.

MarionApril 14, 2012 at 1:47 am #36006lisacraineSpectatorWhen I had a liver resection this past summer, they cut the tumors out, used a nano knife and radiation and I have had no spread in that lobe.
LisaApril 14, 2012 at 1:33 am #36005briola24SpectatorHello everyone, they did the nano knife today on my dad and his doctors were successful in removing part of the tumor. We still have to wait to fully see how well nanoknife worked. Anything is great because his cancer was spreading. Plus my dad looks good after a 6hr surgery.
March 30, 2012 at 4:51 pm #36004marionsModeratorGaby….as far as I know the safety issue has not been resolved. In fact, here is a current study addressing it:

MarionMarch 30, 2012 at 4:38 pm #36003briola24SpectatorHi everyone,
Has anyone heard anything recent about nanoknife or has done it? My dad is stage 3, and we just found out the tumor got bigger. The doctors brought up Nanoknife and they want to do it on my Dad within a month in a half, and he is scared. ( At UCI Medical Center)
Any information/stats would be great. Plus since it got approved by the FDA would it be covered my insurance/medical
Thanks everyone, GabyMarch 24, 2010 at 3:21 pm #36002diannehSpectatorWent to see our oncologist yesterday and showed him the print out about Nanoknife. He almost threw it on the floor as if it was junk! Kinda ticked me off that he would have attitude like this, don’t know or care if he was ticked that I was presenting something or questioning the hospitals capabilities, could be that’s it’s because he thinks he knows everything, I don’t know, not impressed.
Anyway, he finally said that there is often a disclaimer at the bottom somewhere that talks about stats and info on trials etc, not being available, and gives good cause to brush it off.
Well heck! If we had that attitude about chemo/rad where would we be.
February 26, 2010 at 10:44 pm #36001gavinModeratorHi Marion and Ron,
Thanks for that. I hope that this treament will get some more research and that it shows some great results for patients. The more treatments there are out there the better for all.
Best wishes,
Gavin

February 25, 2010 at 8:25 pm #35999marionsModeratorGavin…..thanks for posting this. Amongst others, Dr. Curley, at MD Anderson, is working with this technology. It was reported on one of the news shows in the U.S. I have great hope for it to be a successful in treating cancer although, I believe, it will be a few more years, possibly five, before human trials will show the results we are hoping for.
Best,

I’ve never heard of this procedure before and wondered if anyone else had? I found this piece just now and thought I would flag it up here –

And this is from the company who makes NanoKnife –
