Melinda B.August 11, 2014 at 5:55 am #84294gavinModeratorSad, sorry to hear what your dad is going through right now and I hope that they get to the bottom of what is going on and get it sorted asap. Hope that the bili numbers come down very soon so that they can get on with doing something else for your dad. I wonder if they can replace the stent or extent it anyway so that it works better, just a thought. Let us know what happens with the second brushing, we are here for you.
My best wishes to you and your dad,
Gavin

MarionAugust 11, 2014 at 12:38 am #84292lainySpectatorOh good, on MDA that is what I was hoping you would say. This cancer is not for the weak, we all need to be very strong and like I usually say once a treatment is put in to place the fright turns to fight. Please keep us updated as we truly care. Be strong.

We are still in shock and unbearably sad we still cant understand how this happened but God willing we feel in our hearts hes going to be ok. My dad is at MD Anderson in Houston and they just did a brushing here for a second opinion and were still waiting for the results. We thank you for your reply and any advice you may have will be greatly appreciated. God bless you and your loved ones.August 10, 2014 at 8:28 pm #84290lainySpectatorDear Sad, I am so sorry to hear what is happening with your Dad. My first question is where is he being treated? Have you had a second opinion?
August 10, 2014 at 8:21 pm #10423inevitably-sadMemberHi my dad was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma.in June we are now.in August. His bilirubin is elevated they put in a metal stent which was too short and not at all helpful and he got a really bad infection cholangitis they pumped him with really strong antibiotics and iv fluids. Thank God he got better and made it.through but his.kidneys took a hit and he had acute kidney faliure. The blockage was still in the bileduct so they put.in a drain which worked at first then stopped.working and they dismised him from the hospital. At home he got a fever so we came back to.the hospital.the infection was back so again with the antibiotics. So now hes having kidney failure the kreatin is at 6.7 and theyre thinking about dialisis. Also his bilirubin is elevated and he cant get treatment for the tumors.until the bilirubin goes.down. We dont know what to do has anyone gone through this any advice will be truly appreciated were.trying everything to save my dad, the drs are not optimistic but I feel the answer is somewhere out there we just have to.find it. My dad is the healthiest strongest person I know and I know.he will make it.trough this. Thank you for.your help God bless you and your loved ones.
