Pauline….I am so grateful to you for handing out these brochures and the positive response you have received. It warms my heart to see the act of kindness you are showing to fellow CC sufferers at this so very painful time in your life. My heart is with you.
Hugs
MarionDecember 11, 2008 at 4:41 pm #22928paulineMemberI took the brochures to a meeting I had at King’s College Hospital in London about my husband’s treatment as a cholangiocarcinoma patient. They have agreed to give these to all cc patients, of whom they have about 24 currently, and to list the cholangiocarcinoma foundation in their own booklet for cc patients.
I will also be contacting Hammersmith Hospital and Barts to ask them to do the same.
PaulineDecember 4, 2008 at 4:32 pm #22927gale918MemberI received my brochures. Thanks. I’ll try to get them distributed. Our local clinic has a new cancer library. Good place to display them.
November 18, 2008 at 8:30 pm #22926stacieMemberI did get your message Gavin. Sorry I’ve been out of town the last two weeks, but am firmly planted until the end of the month. I’ll be sending the next batch of brochures out soon.
Karen, great news! Thanks for distributing the brochures. Every little bit helps.

I don’t think I ever gave you an update on the distribution of the brochures. Went to Beth Isreal Deaconess in the beginning of the month and Rob’s radiation oncologist was very interested in the brochure and especially the foundation. While there I was able to place the brochures in quite a few areas thoughout the hospital (since I had time on my hands during the 3 days of treatment Rob received). Spread the word! Thanks for providing the information.
KarenNovember 15, 2008 at 11:36 pm #22924gavinModeratorHi Stacie,
Just to let you know that I emailed you regarding brochures, I used the email address that you have given in the posts in this thread. I would be delighted to distribute some brochures here in Dundee and the surrounding areas if there are any left.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers
Gavin

LuluOctober 29, 2008 at 10:13 pm #22920stacieMemberOctober 29, 2008 at 9:24 pm #22919marionsModeratorraye….I will make sure for Stacie to receive this although, she might already have seen your posting. Just in case I will copy and send it to her, also. I know that she will need your home address. You might want to e-mail her at: Stacie@cholangiocarcinoma.org. This way we we will be absolutely for her to receive this. And, thank you from the bottom of my heart for distributing the brochures. Your idea of developing something similar in Candada is a wonderful one. Thanks again.

Would it be possible to have some of these brochures sent to me here in Canada?? I have a new cancer foundation here in my hometown, as well as The Cancer Society of Canada office here that I have been in contact with throughout the year.
They know my story and I would like to get some of the brochures to them, and develop something similar for Canadian CC patients so I can direct them to cancer centers here in Canada as well as those centers in the U.S.
By the way, I’m a survivor of CC and was successfully transplanted at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Mn. by Dr. Julie Heimbach. More people need to know about this procedure and I hope to help with that too.
Thanks,
Raye Field
Chatham Ontario CanadaSeptember 26, 2008 at 1:45 pm #22917karenSpectatorYou are certainly welcome…must be my printing background coming through. Looking forward to distributing the brochures and making more people aware of our blight. Thanks for all you hard work.
KarenSeptember 26, 2008 at 1:57 am #22916stacieMemberAll of the donations to the foundation ARE tax deductible.
This was a mistake and of the 100s of times we went over this brochure I can not believe we some how didn’t catch that – Love you Karen. We only printed enough this first run to go to ASTRO. We’ve been so focused on the medical information and making sure it was perfect, somehow we missed that error. We had a couple of other small things to change as well.
Rick will make the changes and our new printing will be out in 7-10 days. So, those of you who will be helping distribute, you can expect to see your packages arriving soon after that.
Thanks to everyone so far who has asked to help distribute the brochures, I was so excited by your response and every thing you do helps in a big way.
Thank you, thank you & thank you Karen especially, for catching that.
September 25, 2008 at 5:05 pm #22915karenSpectatorThe brochure looks fabulous! You guys did a great job. I have a question…if Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation is a non-profit organization how come the donation would be taxable? Is this another “lovely” loop hole the government has devised to only help certain organizations?
