Charlene, John does know how much he is loved and we wish for him a comfortable journey and for you to pull on all that strength you have shown through the whole nightmare. May you both find that peace you deserve and know in your hearts that he will not be gone but is only leaving the room. You have a lot of people here sending their thoughts your way.

August 9, 2008 at 11:13 pm #21409fairydropMemberThank you all. I know I couldn’t have done this without each and everyone who has written with advice, sympathy, empathy and your wonderful prayers.
I will keep you updated as we go along our final journey.
We went to a family reunion last week that my cousin had thrown together just for John.
He wasn’t able to do much at all but he was surrounded by everyone who loves him and was so very happy just to lay and hear us tell stories and laugh.I love him so much and don’t know what I will do when he is gone but I know my family and you all will be there to help me through it, I thank God for each and everyone of you.
Much love to you all,

Prayers for John’s easy, peaceful passing and prayers of strength for you and your family. My heart aches for you. Please feel the hugs coming your way to both John and you.
KarenAugust 9, 2008 at 11:32 am #21407marionsModeratorCharlene…..there was no detectable jaundice when my husband passed away, either. Similar to John, he faded away. My heart is with you at this trying time and I am sending to you all my love.
Hugs

August 8, 2008 at 7:17 pm #1430fairydropMemberWell we have a Ct scan Monday and see the oncologist Tues.
John is skin and bones now, sleeping almost all day and night. They’ve doubled his pain meds and they seem to be doing the job. It’s kinda funny though, he has no jaundice! He just seems to be wasting away from the cancer itself.
My Mom died of cervical cancer with mets to everywhere and she died like John is, just slowly wasting away. I thought he would have jaundice though.
John is still in denial and I’m really dreading the oncologist telling him she’s putting him in hospice. He is so weak he just can’t take anymore chemo.
How do I help him? I just want to cushion him and know I really can’t but I love him so much and can’t do anything to make this better. Please just pray for him that he goes easily knowing we all love him and it’s ok to go. He’s an amazing man who is more afraid of me being alone than his own death.
I love you all and Gods blessing on each and everyone of you,
Charlene -
