All my best wishes,
MarionOctober 17, 2011 at 2:05 am #53713candrewsSpectatorThanks everyone for all of your kind and encouraging words! My oncologist has mentioned also doing a systemic chemo for clean up just in case anything is floating around. And once these tumors have shrunk, the surgeon wants to do a resection! I have an appointment with my oncologist this Friday. I will be sure an keep you posted!
CindyOctober 12, 2011 at 7:03 pm #53712gavinModeratorHi Cindy,
Welcome to the site. Sorry that you had to find us all here but I am glad that you have joined in with us as you will get loads of support and help from us all. And it is great also to hear that you and your family are happy with the new medical team that you have in place now. Hopefully now that your new team have made their diagnosis then they can get on with treating it accurately.
Thats great that you are doing well on the liver infusion pump with no side effects, and hopefully this will continue. What else did your doctors say they would look at treatment wise? Feel free to ask any questions at all that you will have and we will do what we can to help in answering them. Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Best wishes,
Gavin
October 11, 2011 at 9:23 pm #53711jathy1125SpectatorCindy-Welcome and sorry you had to find us! I am a CC survivor. I am cancer free for 2 years!! My miracle was with Dr. William Chapman at Barnes-Jewish Hospital St. Louis MO.
Please keep posting on how your journey is going.
Lots of prayers-CathyOctober 11, 2011 at 5:33 am #53710lainySpectatorCindy, welcome to our wonderful family where you will find the most courageous and caring people from all over the world. You are already way ahead of the CC game by finding doctors you trust and believe in. Good going.
I am so happy to hear that you have no side effects and hope this signals a no side effect future. I do believe that there are one or two others here who saw Dr. House and also really liked him. Continued good luck and please keep us posted, we care.October 11, 2011 at 3:41 am #53709marionsModeratorHi Cindy and a warm welcome to our group. I am happy to hear that you were able to find a physician diagnosing this cancer correctly. This again is proving that the prognosis always should be followed up with one or two other specialists very familiar with this disease. Being that you have visited this site most likely you know that a few of our members are being treated with the hepatic liver infusion pump; in fact you might want to use our “google” search function (enter: liver pump) to read up on some of their postings. Cindy, would you mind sharing with us more of your experience with this treatment? We learn from each other therefore, each and every entry is dear to us.
Good luck and again, welcome to the club no one wants to belong to, but is happy to have found. All my best wishes,
MarionOctober 11, 2011 at 2:42 am #5765candrewsSpectatorMy name is Cindy. I am a new member, but have been following since receiving my official diagnosis of CC in July, 2011. I said “official diagnosis” because from April until June I received 9 treatments of Gemsar without ever knowing exactly what kind of cancer I had. Unfortunately, these 9 treatments did absolutely nothing. In July, I went to see Dr. Paul Helft at the Indiana University Simon Cancer Center and was promptly told that I had a text book case of bile duct cancer. Dr. Helft had me see the “liver cancer surgeon”, Dr. Michael House and on August 8th, I received a hepatic liver infusion pump at the IU Simon Cancer Center. To date, I have received 2 treatments without any noticeable side effects. My family and I believe that we have finally found the right team to treat this disease!
