Hey Kris…count me with the others in your cheering section. Sending you Minnesota hugs and wishes. What the heck—sending along a cheer from my old high school days: B-E A-GG-R-E-SS-IVE. BE AGGRESSIVE, GOT TO BE AGGRESSIVE! GOOOOOO, KRIS!
Have a good weekend!
JoleneJuly 31, 2009 at 1:31 pm #29855amyleaSpectatorKris,
You are such an inspiration. I am so relieved to hear that you are ready to take on this next step in your battle. Your wonderful attitude is going to help you so much along the way.
Big hugs!!
AmyJuly 31, 2009 at 12:41 pm #29854lainySpectatorOMG! I hate this expression but I knew it!! You go girl. That’s the Kris we know. Put on those pink boxing gloves and that sequined pink robe and get in to the ring and give it what for! We are all betting on YOU!
July 31, 2009 at 12:31 pm #29857roma35MemberHi Kris,
What a great fighting spirit you have!! I read your original post last night, and I have to admit, I got super, super bummed and turned my computer off(I do that sometimes when I read a post) but then i thought about you all night and your situation and I thought the same thing- the tumor is growing slow, it can just stop growing. The new chemo coctail will just shrink the buggers, it is worked for others, it can work for you! We all know nothing is written in stone with this cancer, so neither is your case.
Lots of positive thoughts going your way. You Go Girl!(with the red hair!)
PeaceJuly 31, 2009 at 11:01 am #29856devoncatSpectatorThanks everyone. I feel a little better. I talked to my bestfriend who is an oncologist and she explained the PETscan numbers to me and basically my number 5.2 is still considered low. Her patients typically have ranges from 8 to 13, so mine isnt too bad.
I have decided to look on the bright side, my tumors havent grown THAT much and the lymph node is now clean so overall not too much change. I am trying to look at this as a new beginning, similar to my starting in March with chemo. New start, new chemo and the possibilities are endless. I will be discussing chemoembolization as well as photolight dynamic therapy (winter here is endless darkness so I might as well take advantage of it!)
We will see. I have shouted my battle cry, shed my tears and put on my battle armour. Next week the war begins again and I am almost ready (my hair needs another red dye! )

It is such a shock to the system when the scan results are not what you hoped for.Its like the shock of the initial diagnosis all over again(worse, maybe)Give yourself time to adjust to this new info and do some really nice things for yourself love from JanetJuly 31, 2009 at 2:59 am #29861jamie-dMemberHi Kris,
I am so sorry that these latest results weren’t what we were praying for. I can only echo what everyone else has said. Don’t give up hope. Maybe this new cocktail will give you the desired results and then surgery will be an option. I am going to say lots of extra prayers for you. Take care of yourself. God Bless,

I haven’ t posted here for some time. I am sorry to hear about the tumor. Have you thought about Theresphere?
My dad had the chemoembolization and we found out later that it did kill some of the tumor.Tom
July 30, 2009 at 5:27 pm #29862elainewSpectatorKris,
Living with this disease seems to be a constant readjustment of perspective. It seems like you just get used to where you stand, and then they throw a curve at you, and you’re living with a new “normal”. But the wonder is that we DO adjust – given time – and then start the process of gathering new information, talking to more doctors, and waiting for new (and hopefully better) results. You’re in our thoughts and prayers. Elaine and GaryJuly 30, 2009 at 5:03 pm #29869amyleaSpectatorKris,
I am so sorry that you didn’t get the kind of news that we were all hoping for you to get. Big hugs to you!!!! I am sending you lots of good prayers hoping that this new chemo combination does the job for you!!! If it shrinks the tumor, will you then be able to reconsider surgery? Lots of prayers and good thoughts coming your way!!!!
