Jennifer, well you and I have the almost the same sad story. My mom also passed away too fast. She waited too long, when I went through all her papers and cabinets, it seemed as though she knew something was wrong. She was suppose to have tests done a long time before she was admitted. When I cleaned out her cabinets I found every possible, stomach medicine you could buy over the counter. She was a very private person when it came to her health. It wasnt like she was going to call me and say ” gee, my stool is black as coffee grounds!” or I am so itchy I am scratching my skin right off. I loved my mom so much that sometimes I think I was boarder line possessive. Till this day I feel like the chain had been broken and there is a piece of me that is floating around trying to come home. This year I am going to try to make an effort to sit out on my deck like I did everyday with her. She loved my home and the peacefullness. You see, I live in a small community with forests, lots of trees, frogs, wildlife. I have my own pond out back that she would just watch things swim back and forth. I know it is hard to think of the day she passed and the hell she went through, but the one thing but the one you will always have are the good times.
March 9, 2009 at 1:57 am #27020heatherkpMemberJennifer…My daughter Emilee and I lost the most amazing man in our lives just one month ago to this horrible monster. I cannot tell you how sorry I am for your loss…I also lost my dad to a rare form of throat cancer three years ago..but during that time, I didn’t have a place like this to turn to. My very best friend in the world sent the email address to me just hours after my husband was diagnosised one year ago. I don’t…let me rephrase that..I know I couldn’t have gotten through it all without all of the wonderful people on this site. They have helped me every step of the way and now are helping me to heal and put one foot in front of the other after Lee’s passing. God has put you here with us for you…welcome.
Love,
HeatherMarch 8, 2009 at 7:49 pm #27019lainySpectatorJennifer, we are so very sorry to hear about your loss. We know that CC is most often diagnosed “too late” and the treatments are iffy but we do believe in being realistically optimistic. Your mom will live on in your heart and mind and memories forever and I just believe that she is watching over you now. It does not matter when you find us we are here for you and please keep us informed on how you are doing. Prayers go out to you and your family.

I feel your pain. I also understand completely how overwhelming this loss is to you. It was August 6th for me; that was the day I lost my Mom, Patty. 61 years young and full of life until shortly before that, I am of course, lost without her at age 39.
Everyone is 4 years old at heart when their Mother leaves them. Bonded in some way, know that you are no alone. We were going through hell together and just did not know it.
Do something special for you, to feel alive and well. Take care of you today. -ljg

I too want to welcome you to the site. I found it a few days after my husband passed on and it has been a God send to me. Everyone here is so helpful & supportive. They all truely understand what you are going through & are here to listen. As Barbara said, here you know that you are not alone. Come back as often as you need to, to ask questions or just to vent your feelings & frustrations.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother, and I am sorry that your loss has found you at this site. However, I am in the process of losing my father to Cholangiocarcinoma and this site has been a Godsend. The people on this site will cry, laugh, commiserate, advise, and just plain old listen when we all need someone to talk to. Where can I go at 3 am when I am wide awake? If you just want to read other posts or if you want to chime in or initiate, there are understanding people here to listen. Ill include you in my prayers and I hope you stay on and let us help b/c you are not alone.
Take Care
Peace and Prayer
BarbaraMarch 7, 2009 at 8:59 am #2073roses-daughter-jenniferMemberI lost my Mom on August 16, 2008. Still feels like yesterday. New to site. Still trying to find answers to everything that happened. Mom had Gallbladder cancer and passed away due to undiagnosed (1 month +) infection that turned into sepsis. We were given false hope the whole time.
God bless everyone here,
Jennifer -
