    Hans,

Thanks for the update. I can imagine that a bored Kris craving all sorts of foods could get a little restless, she was not meant to sit still, I mean, she is a life force! Tell her to start working on world peace already, that should keep her busy! Hope she is home soon and hope you are holding up, make sure you get rest, when she comes home you will be taking orders from The Queen!

    Hans!

Thank you so much for the update! I’ve been checking everyday since the surgery! I’m so glad Kris has you and her family there!

Please pass my best wishes, hugs and love to her and tell her to exercise her typing fingers so we can catch up when she has access to the internet!

Hugs and love to you, Kris and her family!

Thanks, Hans, for the update. As I was once the family caregiver I totally understand how there just isn’t time to do everything you think you need to do.

So glad Kris is making progress!

    God bless you both.

Thank you, thank you, Hans for keeping us informed. Please, send a tidal wave of love to Kris (and keep some for yourself.) I am hoping for her to be released real soon and that she can indulge in some of her favorite food. Besides, the Kitties must miss her much. Fingers crossed for a quick release from the Hospital.
    Hugs,
    Marion

    Hans,
Thank you so much for your post – we have been wondering how she’s been doing. Glad to hear she’s up and moving around – I imagine she’s bored to tears, but good that she’s there and healing. She’ll be eating all her favourites in no time! Thinking of you all!

I just realised that you guys have had no news of Kris (“Devoncat”) since she went in for her surgery 1 1/2 weeks ago. I’m really sorry about this! She has no internet at the hospital and I’ve been working quite a lot, and spending all my free time at the hospital, plus her parents are here, so I’ve simply forgotten to keep you in the loop. I hope you’ve not been too worried…

Surgery went fine, as far as we can tell. She’s still not had any bowl movements worth mentioning, and has a drain through her nose emptying her stomach, so it’s hard to tell if the procedure did the trick, as it was supposed to fix the digestive tract and there’s nothing to digest. She was up and about quite quickly, but she’s still nauseous sometimes, and all the time in bed is making her sore.

They did less than they expected, looping the intestine up to itself, rather than to the stomach as planned. This because of the amount of scar tissue (it’s her fourth bowl surgery…). But they seem quite confident that it will solve the problem.

Meenwhile our councillor is getting ready to have a baby, so her replacement is trying to introduce herself and build confidence. Kris has a private room at her favourite ward; we have an extra bed where I and her mom take turns spending the night, and her dad comes over during the days. But the boredom is getting to her. CNN International is vastly over rated and IV just isn’t food… And it looks like it will be another couple of days at least.

Will try to be better about keeping you posted.
    /Hans
