I am so sorry for the change in your dads scans. Let us know what the onc says. Stay strong and have a wonderful THanksgiving.

Thanks Jemima! I am over my pity party. I guess the shock of having just had an MRI and three CT scans in the last three weeks and then this came back so changed. We are moving forward and looking forward to Thanksgiving. I live in Denver and have been in St. Louis since March because my dad got so sick so fast. Luckily, the whole family is coming in for the week. So, with chaos, will come a nice visit.

So sorry to hear about your Dad’s situation. I am not sure that there is much I can say but at least once you talk with the oncologist you will have an idea of the next plan of action. Maybe if you can get the infections under control they will be able to do chemo as his bilirubin is OK.

My dad was hospitalized last week and this week with infections and has been complaining of numbness in his right groin, hip and now extending across his back…He had an MRI Oct.29, three CT’s since then, one a week, and then a MRCP on Tuesday. We just found out yesterday his right lobe of his liver now looks worse than the left lobe, which is the one we have been worried about since March (his left lobe looks like a deflated balloon with swiss cheese on it. It is just so disappointing. I know setbacks are a way of life these days, but we have come through so much and I am just so surprised the MRI’s are night and day in less than three weeks. I asked, twice, to make sure they were not switched! That is how bad the right lobe looks now. We did get to come home from the hospital last night, but we are seeing the Oncologist Monday morning. At the moment, my dad’s bilirubin is fine, so we might do some chemo, but with this blood infection, recent MRSA, a wound vac and his general declining health, I don’t have confidence the Onc. is going to jump in.

My dad has also been very lucky to had gained back enough weight since his original surgery, but he is down 10-12 pounds in the last week or so. He eats, but I am not sure there is any nutrition staying.
