TS…..the liver helps “clean” the blood by removing medications and toxins. We often see for people to be taken off Statins (cholesterol drugs) with the diagnoses of this cancer. Is there a connection with that or Actol? Who knows?

Dear TS, I took Actos for a short time and while I didn’t have CC I did have another rare stomach Cancer. I really don’t feel I took it long enough to consider it as a cause. I have been on Lipitor about 5 years now. I take the attitude of who knows for sure. It is what it is, now let’s fix it. I believe so many drugs have so many different siide effects for so many people. I am upside down, what ever works for others seems to be terrible for me. So, I hunt and peck a lot. Best wishes to you and your Dad.

Before I forget, I was wondering if anyone out there diagnosed with CC was taking a drug called actos for diabetes? I know I’ll never know what specifically is to blame for my dad’s cancer, but all along he wondered if that could have been the trigger for this cancer (he saw the commercials for the class action lawsuit linking actos to bladder cancer). Didn’t think much about this… but then I spoke with someone here in Harleysville whose husband was also diagnosed recently–and she told me he was taking actos and cholesterol medicine when he was diagnosed. Just a coincidence??….I’ve always wondered about the long-term effect on the liver of all the drugs that are prescribed these days…So, anyone else been taking actos?
