    Hi,
I am starting this regimen this week. The neuropathy stories are beginning to scare me. I am a nurse practitioner and I work in an Endocrine practice. I treat diabetes day after day. Many of my patients have neuropathy as a complication. I am interested in knowing what has worked for anyone. Also….I am a huge knitter. I find it very relaxing and am worried that I will not be able to knit once I start this regimen.

Congrats on the good numbers! I’m making notes about all the different chemo combos, wondering what I will go on next, post resection chemo.

jrsatlanta, I’m in the Atlanta area too. I had a resection done Feb 18 at Emory. Where are you being treated?

For me, CTCA had me take L-Glutamine powder three times a day for five days post Chemo, then stop till next time. I had no symptoms of neuropathy thru pout my noew completed chemo treatments….

Saty positive look for the good as hard as it may be… and trust God…

I did some research on the neuropathy and found some articles on Pubmed that suggest infusions of calcium and magnesium before to cut the risk and severity of the problem. I sent the links to my doctor and we will hopefully be discussing it on monday, which will be too late for my first round, but hopefully not the second.

That is such great news. So sorry about the neuropathy which has been an issue for so many, on this board. You might want to see if there are any tips or hints hidden in the previous postings. The “Search Function” will lead you there.
Thanks for sharing your success. It gives hope to many.

    Hugs

This is wonderful! Try and stay strong and rest whenever you can. The numbers drop is dramatic!

Stay positive and know that we are all here for you and celebrate this with you!

You are in my thoughts and prayers!

    Hugs,
    Pam

Have been on this treatment (3 week cycle, Oxy Day 1 and 6 Xeloda pills twice a day Day1 to 14, rest Day 15-21) a since October and have had no growth, some shrinkage and my ca19-9 levels are down from 508 to 208. The neuropathy and fatigue are growing but I can’t argue with the results.
