I took three rounds of Gemzar and Cysplatin–which did not help–and I tolerated those very well. I am currently on Oxy (day 1) and Xeloda (Twice daily for Day 1 through 14). Like Michael I am experiencing coldness of extremities, exhaustion, dry hands and bruised feet. The Xeloda tends to turn my stomach unless I drink a boatload of water.

After two days home, I can function and return to my office job and live a relatively normal life even if I am not the energizer bunny and need to rest regularly.

Dear Oscarcamacho243 After surgery, I received both gemzar and Oxaliplatin by infusion (every 2 weeks, for 5 months). Of the two, the Oxaliplatin, a platinum based drug, had the most intense side effects(nausea, exhaustion, coldness of extremeties and ultimately peripheral neuropathy). I madi it through, but it was really tough. It sounds like your husband is taking it better than I did. Kudos. Keed doing what you’re doing.

Has anyone had any experience with this Chem o drug.
My husband has had 3 bouts of this so far. He has been on Chem o with Gemzar and Zeloda pills for the last year and a half and has become immune to it. Dr put him on oxaliplatin and Zeloda pills 3 bout ago, he has one week on and one week off.
He is not as sick as he was on the Gemzar and Zeloda. He is functional and able to drive our daughter home from school.
Which he could not do when he first received the Gemzar.
