    Shannon and Wes –

I am so sorry for your loss. Your beloved Mother certainly did live a life of success, and she now lives forever with the Lord. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Thank you Shannon and Wes,
I have been following your Mom’s blog from the beginning and was hoping and wishing for her recovery. Now, when looking at the sky, another star is blinking at us. Hoping for your heart to begin healing…one day at a time..

Our wonderful Mom entered heaven’s gates on February 22, 2008. She was surrounded by her family, friends and her beloved dogs. While we miss her immensely, we know that where she has traveled there is no pain and no suffering, only peace. We thank God for that. She fought valiantly against this unrelenting disease, never relinquishing her faith or her grace in her quest to defeat her “Goliath”. Since being diagnosed in February 2006, Mom Prayed Hard! and steadfastly declared that she would be healed. Unfortunately for us, it was not on our terms, but she has indeed been healed.

When going through some of her things recently, we found a note she had cut out of a newspaper 13 years ago that defined “Success”:

He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who has left the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem or a rescued soul; who has never lacked appreciation of Earth
