Kay, you are so right. We are the best advocates we have and more often than not we must listen to our gut feelings, they have got Teddy and me through the last 4 1/2 years. We are going through these things now with our Radiologist and know what? When a professional looks you in the eye and cannot give an answer then it’s time to switch. If you have any doubt at all you have the right for another opinion.

I know I posted you a reply ANP but on second thought, I would call the Radiologist and tell him you would appreciate his going over the Scan with you. When Teddy’s CC return 1 1/2 years ago we went to another doctor for a courtesy consultation and he asked us to sit with him and he showed us the Scan while he explained it to us. Just another idea.

Yes, 1 month before my father passed one radiologist said the cancer had returned a week later the other said there was no cancer.??? two different radiologist but same hospital. Even his oncologist and surgeon had conflicting views. My advice is keep an eye on everything and everyone.

btw- My fathers passing was a missed blood clot not cancer.

    best of luck

Oh yes and welcome to our roller coaster ride. From what I understand the PET shows “hot spots” while and MRI or CT shows more definition of these spots. The Radiologist always has a talk with the ONC first and the ONC usually set up the game plan. Here is hoping its good news!

My father jsut got back his PET scan results, but they are inconclusive. The CT scan he had last week showed several suspicious spots, while the PET scan only showed one. I want to be optimistic that this is a good sign, but not sure what to think. The doctor is going to compare the scans and speak with the radiologist before talking back with us with any answers. My father is 9 months post resection. Has anyone had a similar experience with conflicting results?
