    did your sister had surgery too,how is your sister now?did she had intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma?

    I saw a oncologyst who said that he want to have a new imaging for my dad after the surgery 8-9weeks,so we will have the PEt scan,MRI,CT scan donr the first week of june,feeling very worry,i hope that no recurrence will show in the scans, thean he suggested based on the results a radiotherapy, does anyone know if the radiotherapy after surgery is more effective than Gemzar Chemotharpy???

    Gemzar can sometimes sting a little when it first goes into the veins. If having it in your arm, ask for a heating pad to be wrapped around your arm a little while before they start chemo.

    Mark, different doctors prefer different imaging technologies, depending on what they are looking for most. I have have mostly CT scans,one PET, but cannot have MRI’s, although pre-surgery that seemed to be the preferred imaging in my case. Gemzar and Gemzar+Cis are two commonly used protocols following surgery. I guess you have to find a doctor you trust and go with that suggestion.

    hi, we saw many oncologist after my dad resection, some told to have a ct scan another said Pet scan and other said MRI,so we are little bit confused here does anyone know which is better,after the scan they advised him to have the Gemzar chemotherapy hoping that nothing shows in the Scan,we are feeling worry…anyone can advise?
