And yet another stressful day! Dad’s bleeding intensified overnight. They managed to replace his drain tubes this afternoon. During that procedure they figured out that the plastic stent had repositioned and was causing the bleeding. I sure hope they are right! They will do a separate procedure to replace his plastic stent with the metal wall stent when they’d feel dad is ready! He has been sleeping mostly since the procedure that ended late afternoon. I hope tomorrow is a better day. We are all exhausted from all the stress and worry! It’s so hard watching mom & dad go through all of this. I read a recent post that said this disease SUCKS! I couldn’t agree more!!!!

November 26, 2012 at 6:12 am #66898marionsModeratorRena….I have learned that people with biliary tract disease have a high risk for pancreatitis. We also have numerous reports on this site. I am crossing my fingers for things to resolve quickly and sending tons of hugs your way.
MarionNovember 26, 2012 at 2:22 am #66897pamelaSpectatorI am sorry for all of your Dad’s trials, but hopefully the doctors will figure things out and make him feel better. Prayers for all of you.
Love, -Pam
November 25, 2012 at 10:13 pm #66896lainySpectatorOh, Dear Rena, I am so sorry. Sorry that anyone has to go through all this “extra” krap as if having CC is not enough! It sounds as though they have identified the culprit though and that is a good thing. From what I understand Pancreatitis is extremely painful. Doubling up on the prayers. Be strong!
November 25, 2012 at 9:37 pm #66895renaMemberIt was a very long and rough night for my family. They ended up transporting Dad to Columbus in an ambulance and he is in Intensive Care. It’s been a challenge to control his stomach pain and fevers. They have determined that he has pancreatitis for starters. His lab work came back all out of whack including his bile levels. He is very jaundice again. He is having a CT Scan done right now in hopes of determining what is causing the internal bleeding and to check things before they do any additional procedures that are needed. It’s a goal to replace his external drain tubes and replace his plastic stent with a metal one. His drain has lightened up a bit in the last hour and less blood seems to be visible. Hopefully this is a good sign. But the blood that drained into his bags overnight was very alarming!
Thanks for your prayers & support!

MarionNovember 25, 2012 at 5:12 am #66892lainySpectatorOh my goodness, Rena, I can’t even begin to make a guess on this latest development. Just know that I am praying and anxiously awaiting to hear what is going on. Be strong!
November 25, 2012 at 4:43 am #7657renaMemberIt’s been another crazy day! This afternoon as Dad was getting dressed, blood started pouring out from the sides of his drain tubes. He has been on an antibiotic for a few days now for an infection. Once at the ER, it was determined that he needed to be treated at the cancer center and after talking with his Dr. he ordered for him to be transported to the OSU Cancer Center (about 75 miles from their home). I am a nervous wreck and waiting to hear from my mom what’s going on. Mom said that he has turned very jaundice again and having stomach pain. I pray that he is ok!
