Katheryn: Gall bladder issues are what caused me to go to the dr in the first place. Which in turn led to the discovery of the tumor. My gall bladder was removed at the beginning of my treatment.
I hope you can get answers, and treatment, to ease the pain. I remember those days! Not easy to deal with. Hopefully a second opinion will help. But it is a major surgery, so I can understand the hesitation when dealing with a cancer patient.
    Good luck,

Thank you very much for your help marions & Lainy! I agree, a second opinion is the direction we need to take. I really appreciate your support!

Katheryn, I second Marion’s suggestion. I feel a 2nd opinion is needed. I know how painful the gallbladder can be. My husband had awakened one morning and saw me hanging sort of from the top of his Hi Boy Chest of drawers in the bedroom. I was passing a gallstone. You are now in the lost and confused club which unfortunately goes with the CC territory. BUT, since it appears to be just the Gallbladder causing problems hopefully another opinion will do the trick. Wishing you the best.

Katheryn….nice to hear from you. So sorry to hear of the pain your husband is experiencing. Katheryn, I would make an appointment with a biliary surgeon. Make sure though to have all records and doctor’s reports on hand.
Also, you may need to obtain more than one opinion. Please know that feeling lost and confused is something most of us can relate to. This is a difficult disease and is accompanied by numerous variable too. Please, continue to reach out to us – we are here for each other, and please keep us posted. We care.
    Hugs,
    Marion

Hi. It’s been awhile since I posted, but I still come to the cholangiocarcinoma foundation website often for education & some inspiration that I need at times. My husband has had stage IV cholangiocarcinoma for a little over a year now, and has had problems with his gallbladder since his diagnosis. He has stents in both his liver and gallbladder. We have been told by his oncologist that they can’t remove his gallbladder due to the difficulty of that procedure. The doctor who has been replacing the stents however, told us that it should be looked into being removed. Has anyone else had any experience with problems with the gallbladder or had it removed? My husband has been experiencing a lot of pain from it, and I don’t know what to do. I feel so lost and confused sometimes! Any information or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

    Sincerely,

    Katheryn
