That’s good news Lainy, I’ve been following this thread and wondering how things are going with Teddy. Let’s hope it was just the bug, as you say…. or perhaps he’s looking for an excuse to get back out on the greens a little more often!

April 23, 2009 at 12:45 am #26894lainySpectatorTeddy is a “regular” at all the golf courses!!!! He was not chilled yesterday or today so perhaps it was a bug. I need to debug him!!! We don’t mind the heat.
April 22, 2009 at 11:29 pm #26893marjoSpectatorHi Lainy: Was Teddy a “regular” at any particular golf course? If so, maybe you could talk to them about letting the old regular guy ride the path in the golf cart. I think prices will start dropping because of the heat. He’d be out in the warmth and having great memories. You could freeze some water in a plastic zip-lock and put that on yourself.

April 21, 2009 at 3:43 pm #26892lainySpectatorOMG! Good to meet you, sort of. Teddy’s ONC is Jack Cavalcant and the radiologist is John Kresl. There is another gal also in Awatukee. We go to Banner Desert for almost everything except the radiologist who is at Banner Good Samaritan. We have been so very lucky with our doctors!! Yes, I am anxious to speak with Dr. Kresl today. You know how deep down you just feel something is not right? I hope I am proved wrong. Thanks for your note, you are REALLY close to us. Doesn’t get any closer to Chandler than Sun Lakes. OOPS I forgot Ocotillo. By the way Teddy said the only time he feels real good is when he is on the golf course!!!!!! That’s my Teddy!
April 21, 2009 at 3:04 pm #26891BazelSpectatorLainy,
You know Teddy and you know being cold is not normal for him. In some way his body his having to divert its energy to other things and this is causing there to be not enough energy to keep himself warm. I am sure you will talk to his Dr. and be sure you he understands this change.
BTW .. we’re neighbors too! I am just up the road a bit to east in Southeast Chandler. My dad was treated by Dr. Shtivelband at Ironwood just south of the Chandler hospital. Small world. It’s going to be plenty warm today so maybe Teddy will find some comfort sitting outsite (but still in the shade).

April 21, 2009 at 12:20 pm #26890just_jillMemberThe oncologist here told me a Pet scan does NOT always see all, therefore, he follows up with CT scans. I just had one on Friday, and will not get results until Monday the 27th.
I am always cold too and I have not had any chemo! I have one of those tie blankets, that a niece made for me, that is always on me while I sit on the couch. Maybe its the Anemia causing the cold, I just blame the lack of fat on the old body, due to the weight loss?
Hugs to you both!
April 20, 2009 at 11:44 pm #26889marjoSpectatorHi again Lainy: My mom loved her electric blanket. But unbeknown to us, it was one of those up-to-date brand that would shut itself off after 10 hours for safety. Well, she was in bed ALL DAY and so we wondered why she was still shivering sometimes. That d_mn thing was off!. When did we find out finally about this safety feature?…..oh, about a year after she passed on. Yes, guilt, guilt, guilt. (picture me slapping the side of my head). Thanks goodness, when we changed her bedding (daily), we always “turned it off” and then turned it back on…..so, she had warmth at least 10 hours at a time. Sigh.

April 20, 2009 at 11:42 pm #26888darlaSpectatorHi Lainy,
I have to agree with you & the others. I thought that the Pet Scan was the best indicator for this and most other types of cancer, especially interahepatic. Jim never had chemo or any other treatments and the last few weeks he was always freezing no matter how warm it was. (It was over 90 degrees the beginning of September when he passed away.) So although I am hoping it is not the case, it could be the cancer or possibly an infection. What ever it is, it is not normal. I too will be hoping for the best & that it is only another bump in the road for Teddy & you. Good luck tomorrow & talk to those doctors. Don’t leave until you get answers.

April 20, 2009 at 11:30 pm #26887lainySpectatorI am thinking like both of you gals. Just was trying to see what some thought before we went in tomorrow to Dr. Kresl.
Marjo, we were practically neighbors. We are in Sun Lakes about 5 miles South of Awatukee. We call Awatukee the largest cul du Sac in the world! Love it.April 20, 2009 at 11:19 pm #26886marjoSpectatorAhh, Lainy: I used to live in Ahwatukee and will never forget the heat. Hmmm. And, it’s only April.
Back here in S.F., during a summer, I was sweating bullets in the car and my mother was shivering from being cold. Then, she asked if I could blast the heater higher! I had to put a napkin around my neck to catch the drips. Never figured out if it were the chemo or cancer causing her coldness. So, if Teddy never had chemo…..maybe it’s the cancer?
Marjo?
April 20, 2009 at 11:17 pm #26885lisaSpectatorHi Lainy,
Have you asked Teddy’s doctor? That’s just not normal.
I thought that a PET scan was better than CT also, but we know how tricky and sneaky this disease can be. Hopefully there is no reoccurance of disease, but just another bump in the road for you two.April 20, 2009 at 10:48 pm #2058lainySpectatorI recently heard that a PET Scan cannot always detect CC. Anyone know if this is true? I was under the impression that a PET was the absolute best in detecting any cancer.
Teddy has been extremely cold the last few days and its in the 90’s in Phoenix.
The temperature in the house is 80! I am dying he is cold. He is sitting in the living room with a bathrobe over his clothes and a hat on his head and a blanket. So far no fever. I just hope its not one of those infamous blood infections coming on. Teddy had radiation last summer and cyber knife in December. No chemo ever.
Tomorrow we have an appointment with the radiologist. He wants to check a hard lump on T stomach where the cyber knife was and I think its where they injected the 4 gold rods. All LAB work was good a week ago. I just don’t feel its normal to be that cold. We also ask the doctor. Just wondered ahead of time what anyone thought. You are all such geniuses!!!! -
