As I mentioned in my Introduction on this tremendous Web site at this address: http://www.cholangiocarcinoma.org/punbb/viewtopic.php?id=275, I was scheduled to have radiation beads inserted through a catheter into the liver. That surgical procedure was done on Nov. 7. A CT scan was done shortly before, and then a follow up CT Scan was done on Dec. 20th. We were pleased to see that the spots had not increased at all which was the best we could hope for. My next scan will be in late February.

This is a relatively new treatment for non-resectable liver tumors, and I was told, at least for my situation, it is available in only 6 medical facilities in the United State — one being at the Univ. of Wis. Madison Comprehensive Cancer Center. But, if you are interested, I’d check the many locations given on the Web site (below) in case they also do this procedure for CC.

More information can be found at the following Web site:http://www.sirtex.com/usa/for_patients/About_SIRSpheres_microspheres
