Sandi….thank you for the efforts made on behalf of helping those touched by this disease. I often wonder about the rate of occurrence of Cholangiocarcinoma and whether it is an accurate number because; we often hear of someone knowing of someone else with this cancer. Even six years ago that was not the case. Makes be believe that due to the awareness it has received, this disease is gaining recognition and more often is correctly diagnosed. May research continue to bring us closer to early detection, better treatment options and the long awaited “Cure.”
    All my best wishes,
    Marion

    Sandy,

Thanks for your efforts to raise awareness. It was very kind of you to reach out to your old classmate, you provide her with comfort only you can give, you really know what she is going through in terms of grief and what she will confront in the years ahead as she navigates life without her husband. It will not be easy but she will not be alone.

Sandy, welcome, welcome, welcome. It’s sad we have to go through these horrendous trials, but I am absolutely certain that they make us better people.
Hang in there, and visit us often.

Dear Sandy, thank you for the post, it seems to me that the bigger the world gets, the smaller it becomes. What a coincidence. I too wish we had been here 10 years ago so that others would not have felt so alone. My husband’s occurred 6 years ago and it was about that time CC.ORG was formed. Thanks for dropping by with your story.

    Hi
I recently discoverd this support group through unfortunate circumstances. A woman I know from high school recently lost her husband to cholangiocarcinoma. We haven’t seen each other in years, but I contacted her because I too lost my husband to this awful disease in 2002. Our husbands, though diagnosed almost 10 years apart, both grew up in the same neighborhood and were friends, and graduated together. It seems such a strange coincidence that they would both have to battlel cc.

At the time my husband was diagnosed, this support group did not exist. I am so thankful it does now, and that my friend has this to help her through. She sent me some bracelets, which my 4 kids and I are wearing, and my kids are spreading the word through facebook to buy bracelets, to help build awareness.

Thank you for all you do and for the support you bring those in need.

    Sandy
