WOW! Lot’s of St. Pat’s Day birthdays.
February 10, 2011 at 5:56 pm #47539lisaSpectatorGreat idea!
My future son in law’s birthday is on St. Patrick’s Day, too.
February 10, 2011 at 5:50 pm #47538katjaMemberMe too Nancy a wonderful idea – I love it. It’s extra easy for me to remember as it will be my dad’s 60th birthday on 17th march, a big milestone for him. We are hoping to raise funds for AMMF over this year to celebrate.
KateFebruary 9, 2011 at 1:58 am #47534nur1954SpectatorThanks everyone for participating. John had friends along over the world (New Zealand, England, Wales, Sweden, Africa, etc., etc.) who join in…..how exciting that we will carry it to many more U.S. States and Canada and who knows where……….it just keeps spreading. I love it!

We always used both his names “John-Patrick” since my husband’s name is John and it always caused confusion. My daughter named her son Owen Patrick in honor of John ……………
February 8, 2011 at 6:35 pm #47536darlaSpectatorNancy,
My oldest son’s birthday is also on St. Pat’s day and his name is Patrick. I will definitley be thinking of you and John and doing something good to honor him and all the others who have passed from or are fighting this disease. Let’s all pay it forward.
With Love & Hugs,

February 8, 2011 at 5:57 pm #4737nur1954SpectatorHi all – I’ve mentioned this in some of the forums, but I wanted everyone who is on this board to know that on my son’s birthday (March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day), I try to honor his life. I found the best thing to do is to ask everyone I know to do something good for someone else on that day (that is not to say we shouldn’t live our life EVERY day like this, but that’s another story….)
Anyway, last year, me and my friends painted the interior rooms in the home of a shut in that lives in our town. Many of our friends and family pitched in and did things to honor him in whatever way they could. Folks worked at Ronald McDonald House; ran 5-K’s; donated their time to charities, etc., etc.
I’m inviting all my CC friends to join us this year by doing something special on St. Patrick’s Day to remember not only my son — but all our friends who we’ve lost and who are suffering from this disease. It doesn’t have to be a huge thing — go visit someone in a nursing home; pay someone’s highway toll; call up an old friend who you miss and tell them you miss them; have a glass of wine and raise it to the sky. My point is — it doesn’t matter — but do something good. John was very philanthropic and I find this the best way to remember him…..I’m trying to Pay it Forward. Let’s all get involved.
Thanks to all – Nancy
