    Hi Julie,

    I’m responding late, but I hope you got this resolved to your satisfaction. I know waiting a whole month for this kind of thing is stressful, very stressful. In my case, they bumped someone to get me in for RFA in a week, but that was because one of my tumors was right at 3 cm, so they didn’t want to wait. Hopefully in your dad’s case, it means that because of size and location, they feel a delay is not problematic. I would ask the radiologist about that directly for your own peace of mind.

    Hi,
    As long as the size of the tumor are In general, the size of the tumor double in size every 3-4months,not counting the growth of the tumor density because the lack of data.
    RFA is a very easy procedure to take, patient can go home the next day and not much pain or suffering afterwards.That is at least holds true for my experience. But of course, if the sizes become bigger,then surgery is much preferred.

    Julie…depending on the size of the lesion and time of recurrence visible (compared to latest scan,) RFA may very well be in the real of normal. It won’t hurt to confirm this with the radiologist.

    Hi folks,

    Looking for your advice – my Dad’s radiologist said he could do the RFA on the recurrent lesions, but we just got word from his secretary that the procedure is scheduled for one month away. That seems like a really long time away, and given one of his lesions is near the bile duct, we are anxious to get it removed as soon as possible and worried it might grow in the meantime.

    Has anyone had experience with RFA and how long did you wait to have the procedure done? I know every person’s situation is different, but can you share if there was worry of tumor growth?

    I want to push back with the radiologist to get my Dad’s appointment moved up, but also wondering if being too pushy is counterproductive. Your thoughts would be really helpful, I feel torn!
