    Mark:
I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. I, too, had progression with Xeloda. There are so many other chemos. Has the dr. talked to you about any other chemo regimens?
Of course, much of the decision making is based on your dad’s health. If he has other issues, they might not want to use some of the other chemo regimens.
But ask the onc about choices. Oxaliplatin with Gemzar worked wonders on my tumor, but it is very, very hard on the body.
Get a second opinion if you need to. Like Marion said, there’s no expiration stamp on you dad’s feet, and if he’s otherwise healthy, then you need to look into as many options as you can…
    Good luck and hugs,

    Hi,
Recurrence is very common in intrahepatic CCA. 30 mm is a good size for using RFA or microwave ; IMRT may be of benefit for the nodule in the lung; interventional radiologist consult is highly recommended.Resection , chemoembolization with RFA or radioembolization are choices if the tumor become larger than 30 mm or more .
    God bless.

Mark i am in a similar situation with my dad. I am also distressed. Try to stay strong and to give him all the care and love you can.

Mark, not what we like to hear! I go along with another opinion to see what someone else might have to offer. And like Marion stated, we do not have expiration dates. Stay strong and please keep us updated.

Mark…I am so sorry to hear the latest news; I feel for you. Clearly you are distressed. Mark, you might want to remember that there is no expiration stamp on your Dad’s feet. The oncologist’s visit will shed more light on the situation and another opinion from a radiation oncologist might be of benefit.
Hang in there and please keep us posted.
    Hugs,
    Marion

Oh no! I hate this! Is this the first chemo he has been on? I believe Xeloda works best when used with Gemzar.
What doctor are you seeing? If he isn’t being seen by a major cancer center, please try to get him to one.
