    Hi Mandy,

Bile duct is a thin tube. Any surgery that reconnects the bile duct may result in scar tissue build up later on. The risk is there, with or without radiation. Better not to think about it.

Mandy…….There always is something isn’t there? But in re: to risk/benefit I had been told that the incidence of biliary injury was not frequent (some small percentage.) So, I am holding on to that.

    Hi everyone,
I am about to start chemo/radiation on my Radial R1 site. I have been told that it is possible the radiation could cause scar tissue build up in the remaining bile duct and could cause it to close up which could result in having to have procedures maybe every 6 weeks (worse case) to “pop” it back open perhaps for the rest of my life?
aaarrgh very scary!!! is there nothing more permanent?
    Any experiences with this???
