    Hi Evan,

Good choice in your mum going with Juan Valle, she will be in very good hands with him and he is extremely experienced in dealing with CC. Please let us know how things go, we are here for you.

    Thanks for all the replies.

In the end, we went with Juan Valle in The Christie for the second opinion, and found him to be excellent.

    Hi Evan,
I am really sorry to hear about your mum.
As people mentioned before Prof Juan Valle in Manchester is a really good expert oncologist for CC and also you may consider Royal Marsden hospital in London.
Prof Brian Davidson (Royal Free Hospital) and Shahid Khan (Imperial College).

    Hi Evan,

I’m really sorry to hear about your mum and know exactly what you must be going through as my fiancée Liz was recently diagnosed.

She has had a second round of surgery just today at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham… They are considered one of the best in the UK and are specialist in all things liver. We couldn’t have been anymore impressed with Prof. D Mirza, his experience is second to none, and the confidence they have in what they do is so reassuring at a time when everything else is so difficult.

We have also heard good things about King’s hospital London, but don’t have first hand experience.

    Hi Evan,

I am in the UK but there is not really much that I can add to what Lainy and Marion have already said to you, their info is excellent. Here is another link withing AMMF’s site that will be of use to you-

    http://www.ammf.org.uk/cholangiocarcinoma/specialists/

Outwith London, I would strongly suggest that you consider contacting Juan Valle at the Christie in Manchester. He is extremely experienced in dealing with CC and has seen quite a few people from this site as well. His info can be found here –

    http://www.christie.nhs.uk/about-the-christie/whos-who/our-consultants/juan-valle.aspx

I know that Helen at AMMF will be of great help to you and should you wish to contact here she can be found here –

    http://www.ammf.org.uk/contact-us/

Please let us know if we can help and more and please as well let us know how you get one.

    My best wishes to you,

    Gavin

Pyderman….in addition to Lainy’s mention, you would want to reach out to AMMF i.e. Helen.
    http://www.ammf.org.uk/
Her website is excellent for those diagnosed with this disease and Helen is quick to respond to questions as well. AMMF list all pertinent information including physicians and treatment center.
    Hugs,
    Marion

See my post http://www.cholangiocarcinoma.org/punbb/viewtopic.php?id=11949 for some background.

UK-based members, can you point me in the direction of appropriate and expert oncologists (for cholangiocarcinoma in particular) in London and indeed in throughout the UK?

A Google search would be needle-in-a-haystack stuff, and getting recommendations from you guys for oncs you have worked with will be far more valuable. Again, send me a private message if you would prefer to take it offline.

    Thanks,

    Evan
