So, I got results this week from my latest scan – stable! I’ve been on pazopanib for 5 months now (my tumor has an FGFR2 mutation). After two months, some of my lung mets had shrunk and become cavitary. This time those stayed pretty stable (was hoping for more shrinkage but oh well!). Last time, I had something suspicious in my peritoneal lining, which is now gone on this scan. Last fall, I was found to have masses in both ovaries as well. While it is exceedingly RARE for CC to metastasize to the ovaries, everyone has assumed that’s what these were, and no one was willing (myself included) to put me through a surgery to remove them and figure that out. One of those masses was gone on my last scan (2 months of pazopanib) and the remaining one has shrunk more on this scan.

So, the plan is to stay on the pazopanib and repeat another scan in three months as long as I continue to stay fine. My platelet count is holding steady between 80-100K, so I’ll have to go in periodically for lab tests, but otherwise, life goes on!

    Kathy
