    For up-to-date information and research on nutrition and supplements, I (and other people) recommend the book Anti-Cancer, by D. Servan-Schreiber. It not only gives recommendations, but explains the science behind them, and has copious references if you want to check up for yourself.

    Supplements I use and would recommend are:
    Milk thistle seeds
    Genesis – a whole food antioxident juice w/resveratrol and ellagic acid
    Advanced Omega
    Essiac Tea
    Kefir
    Pro-biotics
    Echanacea drops as needed
    Vit D3

    Hi Karen,
    hepatic-aid is a nutritional drink for people who cant get enough nutrients in their diet and is also a liver cleanser..it has worked well for my wife but you must talk to the doctor about it before your husband trys it….keeping up you strenght is very important when fighting any illness… ron

    Milk Thistle helps with the liver. I am taking it now and there has been a real difference in my liver function tests. I took it for ages then stopped for no reason other than laziness, but I did notice the results in my lab work.

    Hi Karen….I am sure for you to be receiving some answers for the question. Just wanted to pass on that the “Search Function” might lead you to some previous discussions on nutrition. You might just want to use a key word such as “supplements” or “nutrition” and keep playing with it. This is always a great question and it generally leads to some interesting discussions.

    Hello Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! My husband would like to know if anyone is taking any over the counter supplements and your opinions on their usefullness…good or bad. He currently takes garlic, fish oil, omega 3, melatonin, and green tea. He has also been eating alot of veggies…spinich, brocolli, califlower, carrots etc. He hasn’t began any kind of treatment as of yet but had been doing alot of reading & research.
