Subject: Support Funding for NIH and NSF in the FY08 Supplemental Appropriations Bill

    Dear Colleague:

Before the end of this week, the House of Representatives will consider a bill that includes crucial additional funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF). We ask that you contact your Representative today to ensure that they vote for this important legislation. You can make a difference and show your support by simply calling your representative’s office and letting them know how you feel about this issue. To act now, click here.

As you know, inadequate funding for research agencies has imperiled research progress and is discouraging many of our best and brightest scientists. Our nation cannot afford this loss of scientific talent and research, nor can we risk being caught unprepared for emerging health challenges or national needs.

This legislation represents our best hope in the current climate to provide key additional research funds to NIH and NSF.

Please act today to support funding for science at this critical time.

Thank you for joining us in this effort!

    Sincerely,

    Robert E. Palazzo, Ph.D.
    FASEB President
