Hi Linda. It is so nice to hear from you. I remember you being treated at the Mayo clinic in Scottsdale. How are you feeling?

My family and I spent just a short while in Santa Cruz two weeks ago. I didn’t have the strength to swim or walk much, but took pleasure in just watching my kids run around the beach and listening to the waves crash.

I grew up by the ocean and rarely get to see it now that I live in the Midwest. I can only imagine how wonderful it would be to float in the waters, especially if they are the right temperature. Almost like being in the womb again and surely a deeply healing experience. I have to settle for my bathtub for now, which really does help with the itching and the abdominal discomfort.

Janet…June and July of 2008 Lee took Emilee and I to San Diego…I had a feeling because we took two trips…he knew more about what was happening with the cancer than he was telling anyone…but those weeks there were magical…it was as if we were like we were before the beast struck…something about the ocean that lulls you into a place of security, strength, and peace…it is almost like time stands still..it soon became our very favorite place ever..the memories will be with us forever..Emilee especially. What an awesome memory you will have away in your heart forever.

    Love,
    Heather

    Janet,
I went swimming with my husband and a friend, and when we left I made the comment that I had for the moment forgotten about the cancer. You are right, there is something special about water.

    Hi Janet,
You’re lucky to live in a place where the sea is warm. Up here in the Pacific Northwest, we freeze in the sea! I remember going to Florida once and being surprised at how warm the sea was. Even down in Los Angeles it is warmer than up here.

We use swimming pools up here, (not quite the same thing as the sea) so I will remember your idea when/if I start getting really sick.

I do enjoy just sitting on the beach watching the waves come in off the ocean.

The best thing I was able to do for my husband in his last couple of weeks was to get him into the sea.It didnt cure him but it made him feel marvellous. He could swim around despite all the fluid in his abdomen and feet. The sea is very therapeautic so if you live near it use it
