Bridgette,
So sorry for the delay, but thinking of you. Right now, we’re in “limbo” with Mom- long weekend with great weather forecast coming up- our goal will be to take advantage of the time we have together with her feeling well.Best wishes coming your way,
CatherineAugust 31, 2017 at 7:46 pm #95522darlaSpectatorBridgette,
Glad to hear that you were not affected by this disaster. I have both friends and family in that area and some have been OK and others not so much. It is hard to even comprehend what is all going on there. So sad.

It has been tragic both for humans and animals. I have a friend who is a nurse that spent last night in Huntsville, approximately 50 miles or so North of Houston and by this morning when she got home she was in tears. She said, it was such a disaster and so many people still needed to be rescued and there were loss of life.
In my area, we were blessed in that the roads were passable and my apartment complex didn’t get any flooding, mainly due to the excellent retention pond on the premises. I am very grateful for that.August 29, 2017 at 5:20 am #95524debnorcalModeratorI’m sure it was disappointing to turn around and head home. Probably better, though, to reschedule as you did. Hopefully, the effects of the storm will have subsided by then. Stay safe.

Hoping you and your family, and others living or receiving treatment in the Houston area are safe and able to receive needed services.
Thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

August 26, 2017 at 2:18 am #95527bgmat48SpectatorAfter driving down to MD Anderson and waiting over 2 hours I found out that they wanted to keep me in hospital overnight which would have been okay except for Hurricane Harvey which will drop in on Houston in the night. So, they gave me the option to reschedule as I was not sure my daughter could drive the 38 miles to pick me up in the morning because of Harvey. So, going in on 15 September and staying overnight.

Best wishes that your TACE treatment goes well, you have an easy time of it, and that the storm is not too disruptive.

August 25, 2017 at 2:05 pm #13620bgmat48SpectatorI have a trans arterial chemo embolization procedure today at 1:00 PM. Hoping to get home before Harvey’s edge hits Houston. I was reading about it last night and got a bit down as they said that it is not a cure but a palliative care. I was hoping that it would kill the lesions? Will talk to the IR doctor today. He was so positive the last time he did it. I have had 2 so far. Last scan shows one tumor shrunk and the other grew a few millimeters. The CC has not spread anywhere and the 2 lesions are fairly small. I shouldn’t feel down but I do today.
On another subject, I started taking probiotics as my belly was irritated and it seems a help a lot. -
