    Liz;

    I have gently lifted Mom’s legs one by one up and down slowly along with her arms. This I did on my own. I know Mom knew the benefit of keeping the body moving so I do this ever so gently. A therapist came to the house one day, but I was not emotionally fit to meet then.
    Thank you and everyone for posting.
    Bless you.

    Sharon….I hear you and I feel for you. It is all about keeping the pain under control – the more pain – the more medication. Unfortunately the higher the dose of medication, the less cognitive your Mom will be. This is very difficult to watch, but you must find comfort in knowing that she is not suffering. Your presence, your touch, your speaking to her all, is the most precious of gifts. Stay strong, Sharon.
    Hugs and love,
    Marion

    To all the wonderful people that help me. Hospice is giving Mom enough meds, but it makes her seem like she is already gone. Her head and legs are so heavy from the meds. I could not bear to see her in agony while being changed, but at the same time it seems like too much medication. I was hoping to be able to communicate with her a little, but it seems to be impossible. She cannot move her body from side to side so she gets very stiff from just being in one position. This is truly heartbreaking. I went from watching her dance (not so long ago – to this). Sometimes her eyes stay open for a long time even though she is medicated so much. She stills trys to lift her legs. Sorry for the gloomy email, but I know you will understand. I am still talking to her through all this.
    Bless all of you.
